logan/veronica meme | 10 scenes | 9/10
#everyone always mentions how good veronica is for logan etc #but they never really talk about how logan influences veronica #i love this scene because veronica is recognizing her trust issues #and you can tell how vulnerable and exposed she feels in the scene #but even so #she’s telling him how she wants to change for the better

awww. boy has no idea what he’s doing, he doesn’t know if it will help, but he’s trying. he just wants her to feel better. this emotional idiot, mostly incapable and/or unwilling to reach out, is trying to be there for her, even though he has no clue how. at all.
favourite person okay.
look at this. look at him. look at them. I CAN’T. MY SHIP IS SO ADORABLE AND HEARTBREAKING. This kid doesn’t know how to emote, or reach out, emotional idiot, but he wants her to feel better, he wants her to smile, he wants her to be able to touch someone, to feel, and so he does whatever he can because he wants it so bad and HE’S SO IN LOVE WITH HER IDEK. I think it’s so easy to do the Hermione loves Harry because duh, girl has never EVER left his side and we’re never in her head and “You look tasty Harry” and “You’ve never been more fanciable” but the movies take this lovely approach where we have a lot of Harry loves Hermione and it’s the BEST, because he loves her, but because he has issues with emotion he doesn’t realize it, ILOVETHIS.
asdfghjkl yes yes yes. one can easily ship h/hr from hermione’s pov, it’s harder when it comes to this boy. and that’s why this moment is gold, it’s an assurance. affirmation. he cares. he loves. and there’s war, death waiting for them but he just wants to make her smile for a bit. wants her to forget. she is as alone as he is, and he gets it, and he tries. he tries. the things he does for this girl, the things he’s capable of doing, i wish he could see it too.
I think that’s why I have this obsession with the DOM scene (will never forget, will never forgive screenwriter who is not Steve Kloves. never) because we see HARRY get so unhinged, and Harry freak out and Harry ready to give his life away for this girl and Godric’s Hollow when he initates the touching and I love it. This moment really is gold because of that, because it’s showing how MUCH he cares, and how desperately, I found this movie really golden in terms of showing that he loves her too and he wants it too. And I also have a special place in my heart for Muggle!HHr scenes in which they are all “FIRE?! I HAVE NO WOOD.” “OH MY GOD. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO, WOODDDD!” and Ron’s all *facepalm* because they can connect on that level like nobody’s business.
sdlfkhsdgklahsdf my heart. But what is the DOM scene tell me more?
Department of Mysteries, when she falls to the ground because of Dolohov’s curse and Harry just stops functioning, the boy he keeps on going when all of his friends fall, get cursed, but when Hermione gets hurt, he just stops. He can’t think, and NEVILLE, has to tell him that her heart is beating and then only can he function. THESE KIDS.
OH LOOK WHAT JUST SHOWED UP ON MY DASH.
I have a lot of thoughts and feelings on H/Hr from Harry’s POV, because generally speaking fandom approaches H/Hr from Hermione’s POV because Harry hadn’t had that revelation we were all expecting, but what gets to me about it is that Harry James Potter, boy of the emotional revelation, is so disgustingly obvious with his feelings for this woman, he just never names them. I mean, if you’re a Harmony stan, of course. Which I am. Delusional and proud etc. So let’s just continue to chuck canon out the window because that’s what I do and carry on, shall we? The thing that gets to me about H/Hr, and the reasons I have so many problems with this OH SHE’S LIKE A SISTER TO ME THEY’RE JUST BEST FRIENDS argument is, like, his relationship to Ron is of a completely different caliber than his relationship to Hermione. They look nothing alike. At all. And you can profess that it’s because he and Ron get to be boys and he and Hermione are — but then what do you even name them? What possible word can you use for them? Best friend feels far too small for this. Which is always my problem, no matter how many times I go back to these books. These words we try and use to describe them — they’re too small. Best friend is far too minuscule a term to describe this. I have never seen a relationship this intricate and devoted and intense in all my many years of fandom (slash life?). So I have just sort of decided that Harry doesn’t know what to call it, because there’s just no word for it. It defies description. I’ve never seen another relationship like it.
Which, in a rather roundabout way, brings me back to the DoM scene, which has already been discussed rather intensely above but — I don’t think I’ll ever move past it? I mean, it says something that that scene is consistently in every Harmonian’s top five moments, if not #1 the majority of the time. Because this fandom is so fucking consistent — but I also think it’s that that moment, much like the Hermione’s Friendship and Bravery line which is also a consistent Harmonian favorite, is so much the articulation of how we think of these kids. So, if we think of Harry as built of the war and Hermione as his guide and the mind behind the hand, then it makes perfect sense that he would entirely stop without her. He just stops. He just wants Neville to get her out of the building. He doesn’t even think to check her pulse. He’d fight this war by himself if it meant she made it out alive. What is that? How are you my favorite, child?
But I think it’s really interesting to peek at what everyone’s top five favorite H/Hr moments are, because I think it’s interesting to see how those quotes reflect the ship? Because we are consistent and our kids are consistent and while the books are littered with Harmony moments for those of us who care to stan them, I think it says so much about them and about how we see them based on the quotes and moments we choose. Especially, and this I will note because oh, oh, it says so much:
None of the others had noticed a thing.
Okay, so I can’t really write about why I ship these kids in a single post, but I think this does a pretty decent job, and since someone asked…
This was actually a giant conversation, but I’ll just. Share this section of it. K bye.

We decided to host because the Golden Globes seems like they’re pretty fun!
And it’s a very kind of sloppy loud party and that seemed like our kind of thing.
